Could disabling or preventing encryption on a system mitigate the risk of ransomware?
Disabling or preventing encryption on a system would not necessarily mitigate the risk of ransomware. Ransomware does not depend solely on system encryption; it can still infect and cause damage to systems without needing to encrypt data. Encouraging strong cybersecurity measures, such as regular software updates, security patches, user awareness training, and robust backups, is more effective in preventing ransomware attacks.
