How do phishing scams misuse email forwarding rules to bypass security measures and gain access to accounts?
Phishing scams misuse email forwarding rules by tricking users into unknowingly setting up email forwarding rules that send copies of incoming emails to the scammer’s account. This allows the scammer to gain access to sensitive information without the account owner’s knowledge. By setting up these rules, the scammer can bypass normal security measures like two-factor authentication and gain access to the victim’s account without needing to directly compromise their login credentials.
