Hackers continue to launch ransomware attacks despite the increasing use of backups by victims because ransomware attacks are still lucrative for them. Even though some victims may have backups, hackers know that not all organizations have robust data backup practices in place. Additionally, ransomware attacks can still cause significant disruptions and expenses even if backups are available, as restoring data from backups can be time-consuming and costly. Furthermore, hackers constantly evolve their tactics to target vulnerabilities in systems and exploit human factors, making it challenging for victims to completely defend against ransomware attacks.
