Should Baltimore, or any victim of ransomware, pay the demanded ransom?
Paying a ransom demanded by ransomware attackers is generally not recommended. Doing so encourages further attacks and funds the criminal activities of ransomware groups. It is advisable to report such incidents to law enforcement and seek assistance from cybersecurity professionals to attempt recovery without yielding to the demands of the attackers.
