Microsoft did not directly benefit from the WannaCry ransomware attack. In fact, the attack exploited a vulnerability in Microsoft’s operating system, which prompted Microsoft to release patches and updates to address the security flaw. Microsoft did use the incident to emphasize the importance of keeping systems up to date and secure, and it showcased the need for users to regularly apply security updates to prevent such attacks in the future.
